Step 2: An unfortunately poor photograph but it doesn't matter . I used walnut alkyd and thinner to speed up drying time on the red umber so I was able to work on it a day later. after a bit more refining in the red umber I jumped into the "dead colour" phase , a simple close enough is good enough colour match and blocking in of basic shapes etc. its easy to see lack of detail and an unrefined look including a need to improve on the accuracy of Trisha's face . I still need to "make it more like". It is now that the painting actually starts.

Three little pigs
this first one was done about a year ago and most people wondered what was I thinking, but I liked it. when it went into the Westmount gallery it sold quickly and I was asked to do a couple more. and the gallery's love them.
